These terms govern your use of Hippo (the “Service”), a native macOS application and related website operated by Hippo.

By using the Service you agree to these terms.
The Service
Hippo helps you capture and organize your own information on your Mac and generate context for AI tools you use. Your captured content is stored encrypted on your device; we operate a thin backend only for your account, billing, and product analytics.
Accounts
You must provide accurate sign-in information and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to break the law, infringe others' rights, or attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service. You're responsible for the data you choose to capture and for complying with any third-party terms (e.g. Google, Microsoft) when you connect those accounts.
Subscriptions & billing
- Hippo offers a Free plan and paid plans (such as Pro). Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe on a recurring monthly or annual basis and renew automatically until cancelled.
- You can cancel anytime from your account; your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, after which it reverts to Free.
- If a payment fails, we may downgrade your plan to Free after Stripe's retry attempts and notify you by email.
Refunds
If you're not satisfied, contact us at support@d28.ai within 14 days of a charge and we'll issue a refund for that billing period. Refunds outside this window are at our discretion.
Disclaimer & liability
The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. AI-generated output may be inaccurate; you are responsible for reviewing it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hippo's total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
