Privacy Policy
Hippo is built around a simple promise: your memory lives on your Mac, encrypted, and we can't read it.
Last updated: June 2026
This policy explains the limited account and usage data our service does handle.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and name, from the sign-in provider you choose (Google, Microsoft, or email magic link).
- Billing: handled by Stripe. We store your plan and a Stripe customer reference. We never see or store your card details.
- Anonymous activity: a lightweight signal that your app was active (a timestamp, your plan, and app version), so we can measure usage and reliability.
What we do NOT collect
- Your vault / brain content. The facts, files, emails, and notes Hippo remembers stay encrypted on your Mac. They are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We could not read them if we tried.
How we use it
To run your account and subscription, keep the service reliable, and — if you opt in — send you product updates by email. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Service providers
We share the limited account data above only with the processors that run Hippo: Stripe (payments), Supabase and Vercel (authentication, database, hosting), and Kit (email). Each acts on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms.
Your choices
You can delete your account at any time, which removes your account record and activity data. To exercise any privacy right, email support@d28.ai.
